Andi Franklin is a published author and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. She didn't grow up wanting to be a writer, but storytelling was always part of her life. In her younger years, she was holed up in her room, trying to make sense of life through poems and songs scribbled on napkins and notebooks.
As a high school freshman, she was failing art class (human hands are harder to draw than you'd think), so she switched electives and fell in love with theatre. Andi went on to win several school awards, including best Assistant Director and Best Actress, along with becoming the president of her Drama club.
She attended some college where she continued honing her theatre and creative writing skills but dropped out of school shortly after her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2009. In 2012 doctors told her mother she would need a stem cell transplant, and Andi's husband, Derek, suggested she start a blog to help process her grief over her mom's condition. It was within those web pages that she found her true passion for writing.
Andi continued blogging for six years, chronicling the loss of her daughter, the births of her two sons, and every heartbreak and triumph in-between. She also wrote contributing blog posts for publications such as The Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, and Blunt Moms.
Andi self-published her memoir, "Love, Unpacked," in 2020 and began working as a professional ghostwriter the same year. In 2021 she completed her first short film script and is currently developing multiple series, a feature film, and more books.
As a woman who has experienced many griefs in her years, Andi feels inspired to tell compelling, character-driven stories that highlight the tenacity and tenderness of humanity. She believes in elevating underrepresented voices and working in inclusive, collaborative environments. She is ready to take her seat at the table and help bring groundbreaking, reality-shattering stories to life.
